HostelWallah is committed to ensuring a fair and transparent refund process. This policy outlines the circumstances under which refunds may be issued and the process for requesting one.
Please note that HostelWallah acts as an intermediary platform connecting students with hostel owners. Refund policies for hostel bookings and rent payments are governed by the respective hostel's own terms.
HostelWallah currently operates on a zero-brokerage model. We do not charge students any service fee or commission for using our platform to discover and connect with hostels.
If in the future any paid services are introduced on the platform, refund eligibility for those services will be communicated clearly at the time of purchase.
For any advance payments or booking deposits made directly to hostel owners through our platform, the refund is subject to the individual hostel's cancellation and refund policy.
We strongly recommend confirming the hostel's refund and cancellation terms before making any payment. HostelWallah will assist in facilitating communication between you and the hostel owner in case of disputes.
To request a refund, contact us through our Contact page or email us with your booking details, the reason for the refund request, and any supporting documents.
We will acknowledge your request within 24 hours and work with the relevant hostel owner to resolve the matter. The typical resolution time is 7-14 business days, depending on the complexity of the case.
Refunds may not be applicable in cases where the student has already moved into the hostel and used the accommodation, or where the cancellation is made after the hostel's specified deadline.
Refunds will also not be provided for any third-party services not directly offered by HostelWallah, such as mess fees, laundry charges, or other add-on services arranged independently with the hostel.
If you are unsatisfied with the outcome of a refund request, you may escalate the matter by writing to us. We will review the case and provide a final resolution within 7 business days.
HostelWallah reserves the right to make the final decision on all refund requests based on the merits of each case and the applicable hostel's terms.
